Current XTRA profile from June 2026

The published current profile uses five distinct main numbers 1–50 and a separate PowerBall 1–16. XTRA costs an additional R5 per board alongside a R10 main-game entry, for a combined R15. An official add-on uses the same selected numbers as the main PowerBall play; it cannot be purchased as a standalone ticket.

Number Desk and member picks on this website are free research records. They may be saved and checked independently, but they do not purchase a ticket, establish a paid main-game entry or validate eligibility for an add-on prize.

Verification status: the National Lottery operator pages block automated access. The June 2026 name, format and cascade profile below are based on the independent Lottery.co.za game guide and change notice, cross-checked against the stored supplementary-draw data. An accessible official rule document was not independently verified during implementation. Consult the current operator rules before buying an official ticket.

Draw schedule

Draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays around 21:00 South Africa Standard Time, following the main PowerBall drawing. The reference calendar uses Africa/Johannesburg (UTC+02:00, no daylight saving time), and member picks close at 20:30 SAST. No Power Play or South Africa PowerBall XTRA multiplier is applied.

Jackpot odds for 5/50 + 1/16 are 1 in 33,900,160. Values in the results archive are taken from each actual stored Plus/XTRA record in rand, retaining cents. The guide’s current fixed levels are not applied to historical prize rows.

Month-end Jackpot Cascade

Under the published XTRA profile, if the jackpot is not won in the final drawing of a calendar month, it is distributed to Division 2 winners. If there are no Division 2 winners, it goes to Division 3. If neither division has winners, it rolls into the next Division 1 jackpot.

Result pages identify the scheduled final Tuesday/Friday draw of a month. They do not invent a cascade payment, calculate one from reference picks, or convert missing payouts into assumed winnings. A line’s number-match division and an actual paid cascade allocation are different facts.

Historical formats and branding

  • PowerBall Plus launched on December 1, 2015, using 5/45 + 1/20.
  • From June 1, 2018: 5/50 + 1/20; historical Plus add-on price R2.50.
  • From June 2026: published rebranding to PowerBall XTRA, 5/50 + 1/16, R5 add-on and month-end cascade.

Statistics are separated by these eras. Records remain attached to the supplementary draw’s stored date and local ID, never the main game’s local ID. The website retains the Powerball Plus name and URL so old links continue to work.
